Great Wolf Lodge

For Ethan's birthday we took him to the Great Wolf Lodge. It is only about 30 minutes from our house. If you have never heard of it, it is a hotel that also has a indoor water park, an arcade, magiquest, restaurants and who knows what else. I saw an ad for it and found out that they had military discounts. It was still awfully expensive but I knew we would have a blast so I decided that's what we would do. It was so much fun. We told Ethan he could bring his friend Cristian, who is in most of the pictures, and Cristian's mom too k Addie for us. We had a handful of friends and family there and we just had a blast. By the end of the weekend we were worn out. Ethan told me when we got home that he had so much fun. I also paid the extra money for a special kid room. They have bunkbeds in their own little space decorated like a wolfden. The boys thought it was great. So enjoy all the pictures. I did go and get Addie for our second night there and she had a good time too except when she fell off the beaver as you will see further down. Although it was expensive it was totally worth it and I hope that someday we will be able to go again.

Do the Puyallup!!

So, Derek took Ethan to the Puyallup Fair on Tuesday. They both took the day off and went and played. Since it was a weekday it was not very busy so they were able to do a lot. It sounds like they had a blast. here are some pictures to include a video of the wonderful experience of Mutton Bustin!! Derek finally got to see his boy do it. Happy Birthday to Alisha

So, Alisha's birthday was on Saturday. We had a great time. We went to Buca di Beppo's for dinner. If any of you have heard of it but have never been there make sure to find an excuse to go. They serve food Family style and the food is awesome. We love it. So we got a big group together and went. It was awesome and everyone had a great time. Afterward we went to my friend Justin's house and played Wii. We bowled and raced and had a blast. The kids ran all over the place and couldn't keep their hands off the new kitten. Our friends couldn't keep their hands off the kitty either. Everyone just wanted to hold little Sassy. It was awesome.

I'm not quite sure what Ethan was trying to accomplish here but it was funny. I think he was trying to get the cat to play with him. He just came out of the bathroom like this. Crazy kid.

Derek reneted a boat to go fishing in yesterday so I thought I would put up some pictures of the sunsets here that he tool. They are beautiful over the water.

Silliness

So, here's a few pictures for you guys. Addie has started really liking her stuffed animals. These are her favorites that she sleeps with every night right now. If one gets forgotten she definately reminds you about it. She goes to sleep just like this or at least this is how I leave her at night. Silly girl
Here are some super silly pictures of Ethan. The first one is just of him being silly in the neighborhood. The second and third pictures are of him getting ready to go fishing. Derek told him to get his fishing vest but when he put it on we realized it was WAY too small this year. He insisted on leaving it on and got quite upset when we suggested he go without it. Love it!!

Our new kitty

Some of you know that for some reason our cats always seem to want to get outside. Alex was no exception. So when we left to go to the Gorge over Labor Day weekend he got out and we haven't seen him since. Ethan finally really grasped the idea this past weekend that Alex was probably gone so we decided to go to the shelter and get a new kitten. They had some kittens that had been dropped off that morning and this was one of them. For the first time we got a girl kitty. Ethan picked her out and we named her Sasparilla but will be calling her Sassy. Both of the kids love her and she seems to love them. She has not yet scratched or bit as a reaction, although she does like to chem on your hand a little bit. Addie carries her around like a little doll and is actually fairky gentle right up until she decides to drop her, then she kinda throws her down. But she's barely 2 feet tall so it isn't too traumatic for little Sassy. Sassy also seems to be a bit fearless and is already jumping onto and off of our bed. She goes up and down the stairs and as you can see in this picture climbs all around things. She's a sweet little thing.

First Day of 1st Grade

Today I have two stories for you. The first is my story about Ethan last night. Yesterday evening was the school's open house so that we could all go and meet Ethan's teacher and see his classroom and where he was sitting and all that. We were going as soon as I got home from work. I guess right after Laura left for the day Ethan asked Derek is he could change his clothes. Derek said that was fine, he didn't care. So Ethan told Derek that he wanted to dress up to meet his teacher for the first time and this is what he came up with. A button up shirt and conductor overalls. It was fantastic. This is the picture I took this morning on our way to the bus stop. We got his clothes all picked out last night. He picked out everything and decided that he wanted to wear all brown so he did. Under his sweatshirt is a cool brown T-shirt. He even let me put his hair in a mohawk. Yay!! We walked to the bus stop and no kisses for me this year. Too bad. I did really like his teacher though. I actually like her better than his kindergarten teacher who I didn't like that much. She was okay and did her job fine but I didn't love her. His teacher's name this year is Mrs. Loyer. I think she will be good for him. We'll see how the year goes. is first day sounds like it went well and even though he took a different bus home so that he could meet me at my work everything went smoothly. I'm excited for him to be in first grade.
