Some recent pics

I know it has been awhile but I have lots of pictures to catch us up. Ethan's arm is getting better. We have a check up on Tuesday to see how it is healing and if he needs a new cast. His arm was a bit swollen when they casted it so we will see what they want to do. It is still hurting him a little bit, usually at night when he's been using it all day but it gets better with some Tylenol or Advil. Hopefully next week he might be up for some Taekwondo. We'll see. His ortho physician said he needs to hold off in case he were to fall and break it worse.

Starting next week we will have a crazy house. We will go from having 2 kids to having 3 kids. We will be keeping Cristian for a month while his mom goes out to the field in California. It will be busy but I think with some planning it should be just fine. It will work really well once we get Ethan's room together so that they are not sharing a room. That just sounds like a bad plan.

Last night was a bit rough. Derek had an over night duty and so things were a little crazy at the house once everyone went to sleep. Addie woke up because I accidentally locked the cat in her room. So, I brought her into bed with me. then she fell off the bed all the while kicking my butt in her sleep. Then Ethan came into bed. To make life even more interesting I had to get up early and get both of the kids ready and take Addie up to Ft. Lewis to daycare before work so that Derek could go straight home and get some sleep after being up for 24 hours. Hopefully he's sleeping right now. I wouldn't mind being in bed sleeping too, but I don't have a great excuse. Too bad. Well, here are all the pictures I promised. I should have more soon but Addie got ahold of one of my cameras and now I can't find it. I have a picture of Addie "Running Away." Hopefully I'll find that soon.

At daycare the little kids clean their own plates and put them in a bin. Well, Addie thinks it should be no different at home. So, she scrapes her plate into the trash can. We have only had one broken plate so far. On this day she could not get the food into the trash to save her life. sassy was loving all the droppings on the floor. Now, we just need to get Ethan doing the same thing.

Addie loves this unicorn that Auntie got her for Christmas. It took her awhile to figure out how to use it because it is almost too big for her. She has to lean forward to make it work for her. I don't have a picture of it but she hopped right into the wall. Although she cried and I had to hug her and love her for a few minutes...it was really funny.

Addie loves Ethan's Skateboard and will scoot around the kitchen for as long as we will let her. Ethan is pretty good about her playing with his toys as long as he wasn't playing with them first.

Ethan came to my bible study group last night because we were watching a Veggie Tales show. It was kinda fun and he liked hanging out with the grown ups.

Broken Bones

So, Saturday night Ethan thought he was a UFC fighter. He grabbed his friend Cristian around the neck and they wrestled until they fell to the ground. Ethan went to catch himself when he heard a crack and laid on the ground crying. We eventually headed off to the ER and found out he had broken his humerus. Kinda funny, huh? Anyway, here are some pictures of the break and some pics Alisha took in the ER. Tomorrow we have his first Ortho appointment to figure out what to do next. We'll keep you posted.

What happens when you leave a 6 year old in charge for a couple of minutes

So, on my quest to get some laundry done I asked Ethan is he would watch his sister for a few minutes. I am very sure it came out more like "Hey Ethan!! Watch your sister for a few minutes!!" The off I went upstairs for about 10 minutes to fold and put away some laundry. As I came around the corner to the stairs I saw Addie covered from head to toe in marker. Kinda funny but then I looked at what she was doing and saw that she had moved on from herself and was instead drawing on the door which was the last place she had drawn on after herself, the tile, the wall, and Ethan's carseat. I immediately yelled and Addie dropped the marker and ran. Then Ethan came running up and started sobbing. Poor kid. I sent him off to his room angry as can be since he was supposed to be watching her, but what should you expect from a 6 year old. So here are some pictures from my little artist. And by the way...Elmers makes this great product that removed all the marks from the tile and on the door. The wall, Ethan's carseat and Addie's body will be covered for awhile if not permanently.

This was a small amount comparatively to what it was. Multiply this by about 10. Look at the carseat below and that is what some of the tile looked like.

New Years Party

New Years was a blast. The annual party was a little small but it had all of our favorite people there, except for a couple of people who couldn't make it. We ate food, drank, played Rock band, watched the kids play, set off fireworks, hot tubbed and just hung out. It was a blast. I know I had a great time. Thank you everybody who came out. We had a fabulous time. Here are some fun pictures for you.
