The sun is shining

So, the sun has been out in Washington and so we have all been playing in the sunshine. I love the summers here. The sky is always soooooo blue and there is so much green. Last summer seemed a little bit short. I think we actually had rain in August, which never happens. Anyway, here's some fun in the sun pics for you. I'll have more tomorrow or the day after of our beach trip.

Laura took Addie and Kason to this park. I've never been but it looks pretty cool
I do believe that Ethan is in fact part monkey. He doesn't even climb this pole he walks up it. Yummy PancakesWe went to the Wildlife Refuge down the hill from our house and Ethan loved looking at all the birdsEthan had a blast on the Slip 'n Slide. I was so excited it was warm enough.

Extra Zoo Pics

Here are the extra pictures from our trip to the zoo. I had to get a disposable camera so the pictures aren't great but they are cute. I love the ones with the birds. Addie didn't know what to think of them and kept edging as far away from them as possible. Way cute.

Mommy and Me Day at the zoo

So, on the Saturday before Mother's Day the Seattle Area zoos planned a "Mommy and Me" day at the zoo. You had to buy a shirt at Macy's and wear it to get into the zoo that day. So, we bought our shirts and I was afraid we would get lost amongst the sea of white shirts, so after some brainstorming with Alisha we came up with Tie-dyeing them. Laura is awesome at that stuff so I let her do it and she did an awesome job at it. We got a lot of compliments on them and lots of people asked where we bought them at. Anyway, Alisha came to the zoo with me since there was no way I could deal with taking the kids by myself. A little too much excitement for a single parent trip. Derek was working in Tacoma that weekend. So, here's some pictures of the trip. I will hopefully be adding a few more pictures tonight. My camera died and so I had to buy a disposable that I am waiting to be developed.

It was a great weekend trip. Afterward we went to my parents' house and had a little party there since I was up north. We tried to have "game night" but of course I picked out the hardest Trivial Pursuit. I would not suggest the 20th Anniversary edition. We will definately stick to Cranium in the future. For all of you who came to the house...we had a blast and I am so glad I got to see everybody. I hope someday soon we'll be able to move up north and see everybody more often. We'll see how that goes in a few years. Anyway, here are the zoo pics.

A blue pancake type of day

So, I have some pictures of the kids eating blue pancakes. One of Ethan's favorite things is to eat colored food so Laura often appeases him making green eggs and as seen here, blue pancakes. Do here's afew ictures of the kids enjoying their breakfast. Along with apicture of a blue pancake I have several pictures of what Ethan thinks are important things to take pictures. It's the closest I have to seeing the world through Ethan's eyes. Birdhouses Ethan and I painted for our backyard. He painted the red and green one although I embellished and cleaned it up just a little bit. I added stuff according to Ethan's vision. The stove from Ethan's viewpoint.Ethan got a great picture of Laura hereNo phot opportunity would be complete without a picture having to do with webkins. This is one of Ethan's webkin's rooms. It looks like he has all of them in one room wearing the same camo shirt.

Water Babies

So here are some pictures of the 3rd time we took the kids swimming. The first time we went Addie got really cold and seemed to like it but was just shivering so bad. Ethan had a noodle around him the whole time and right at the end realized that he could touch the bottom and keep his head above the water. The 2nd time I took the kids by myself. Addie did a lot better. After the first time I went to Target to find her a suit with sleeves to keep her warmer. It actually helped quite a bit. She did better but still wasn't extremely into it. Then this last time we went Addie was a water super star and Ethan was so busy jumping into the pool he could careless that we were even there. I got some pictures of him but he was harder to get. Addie was very excited about the water. She tried blowing bubbles, didn't mind getting her face wet, laid on her tummy and her back and kicked her legs for us. She was a super star. I cannot believe that Ethan is big enough to stand up in the pool. It is a 3 foot pool but still. I didn't think I had a little boy that tall. Anyway, here's a bunch of pictures. None of me. Whoohoo!!
